Experience
I received a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology, along with minors in Spanish and Music, from Lawrence University in Wisconsin, and a Master of Arts in teaching English (as a second language) from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. I am passionate about travel and had the opportunity to tutor study abroad students in a Spanish language program in Costa Rica and as a Peace Corps Volunteer I taught in a K-9 school based in El Salvador. I was also a lecturer for two years in English at the Institute of Language and Culture Studies in Bhutan, and my experience also includes tutoring test preparation and mathematics. My amazing experiences traveling and teaching abroad solidified my passion for education and helping students grow and reach their full potential. My teaching approach is centered fully on the students and specific goals and learning styles. I always try to make subject material fun to learn and foster the motivation to work hard and be rewarded with success. Away from the classroom and tutoring, I like to read, play the guitar and piano, travel, and do yoga.
